From May to June 2022, the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM) and the Interdisciplinary Center for Integration and Migration Research (InZentIM) at the University Duisburg-Essen are hosting a lecture series on research on transnational families.

Program Overview

Due to spatial mobility and migration, many families have become stretched across different countries. For more than two decades, transnational families have received considerable scientific attention. The lecture series, therefore, brings together renowned international scholars from various disciplines to discuss the current and future trends, as well as the work program for researching transnational families. The series comprises four lectures which will all be held online. The series comprises four lectures, which will all be held online. Each lecture will begin with an introductory talk by an expert in the field, followed by a commentary by a second expert and a discussion with the audience.
